5.0 out of 5 stars. Stand back, Lestat! A book for lovers of Anne Rice!

Len Handeland's debut novel reveals a world of love, lust, vampiric jealousy, and human rage wrapped up in a tight gay bow. Perfect for those who loved Anne Rice. A fitting homage, as well, to New Orleans, quickly the most atmospheric home for the good-looking undead.

Looking forward to Len's next book to take out a bite!  - David Perry, award-winning author of "Upon this rock"

Reviews for "Requiem for Miriam"

5.0 out of 5 stars. A well written, entertaining novel

Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2022

Lovers of fast-paced, action-filled murder novels will enjoy reading “Requiem for Miriam.” The characters are well-drawn, the tension is palpable, and the descriptions are detailed and realistic. I specifically appreciated Detective Maria Gonzales, unabated in her quest to catch famous Dr. Sidney Friedlander, who is on the run from his privileged Manhattan apartment after strangling with his bare hands his wife of many years. The detective follows the doctor all the way to beautiful Cancun, in Mexico, while the villain changes his appearance and experiences multiple paranormal encounters with his dead victim, reminiscent of Raskolnikov in Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment.

5.0 out of 5 stars . . . and the journey launches . . .

Len Handeland takes you on an engaging and unexpected journey from the New York high life, to crimes of passion, to paranormal influences in this engaging novel. You won't want to put it down. Blending a Crime Drama with the Paranormal integrates twists and turns that had me second-guessing throughout. A perfect engaging and quick summer read.

Character development - I was part of the main character's life. Felt I knew her. Wow - end is...

The author showed his strong talents in developing realistic characters. Strong woman as the protagonist. I felt as though I could have known her. Don't worry about a boring read as you must pay attention, especially at the end, as things move quickly! Great read to feel a part of this very realistic fictional space.
